About Us
MASCA stands for the “Malaysian Students’ Council of Australia”.
Our aim is to look after the interest and welfare of Malaysian students in Australia. Specifically we focus on Malaysians in Queensland hence the given name: MASCA Queensland.
MASCA National is the central body to monitor the work of various MASCA state chapters. Other MASCA chapters include : New South Wales, Victoria, South Australia, Tasmania, Western Australia, the Australian Capital Territory and Northern Territory.
Our Vision:
- To be the best and exemplary Malaysian Student Council in the World.
Our Mission:
- Serve interests and welfare of the Malaysian student community in Australia.
- Unify various Malaysian student bodies and its members in Queensland, Australia.
- To facilitate the interaction and the unification of various Malaysian student bodies and their members in Queensland, Australia.
- To develop and equip the future leaders of Malaysia with the necessary skills.
- To promote the spirit of Malaysia amongst the Malaysian student community and the wider Australian community.
You should know that MASCA Queensland is:
- Non-profit Organisation run by students for students.
- Not a political nor a politically-aligned organisation.
- Supported by the Malaysian Students Department of Australia (MSDA).
- Well connected and supportive with various other Malaysian student associations in Queensland.
- A multicultural and multiracial organisation, depicting the true spirit of Malaysia.
Various things that MASCA Queensland does include:
- Helping out with new incoming students to settle down (ie. transportation and accommodation);
- Organizing social, sports, patriotic, and religious events that encourages unity amongst Malaysians;
- Informing the Malaysian community on upcoming relevant events;
- Preparing MASCA Queensland contingent to annual MASCA National Conference & Games (NCG); and
- Registering and connecting students with MSDA to keep track on Malaysian students in Queensland.
